My Solar System Isn’t Producing What I Was Promised

Separate production, consumption, utility billing, financing, and the original promise before deciding what needs to change.

It is reasonable to be disappointed when the investment and the result do not match. The first job is not to sell you more equipment. It is to determine what was promised, what the system is actually doing, what your home is using, and what changed along the way.

Production and savings are not the same question

A system can produce energy while the utility bill remains higher than expected. A low-production problem can also hide behind a bill that changed for other reasons. We review the sales documents and assumptions, measured production, monitoring gaps, household usage, utility bills and rate treatment, financing, and verified site or equipment conditions as separate evidence streams.

A savings estimate is not automatically a guarantee. The actual contract and disclosures determine whether a production promise, service obligation, or remedy exists.

You do not have to diagnose it

You do not need to climb onto the roof, open an electrical enclosure, reset equipment, identify every model number, or interpret an inverter code before calling.

If already easy to access, a recent bill, monitoring summary, original proposal, and the approximate date of the change may help later. Do not send passwords, account numbers, payment information, or confidential documents through the public form or ordinary email.

How the assessment works

We separate known facts, customer-supplied statements, measured records, conflicts, reasonable inferences, and missing evidence. A production model can support comparison, but an estimate is not proof by itself that equipment failed.

Possible paths include records recovery, monitoring restoration, qualified site verification, a manufacturer or warranty inquiry, a utility billing question, repair of a verified fault, or a staged improvement plan.

Safety and professional boundary

Do not open electrical equipment, remove covers, climb onto a roof, or handle conductors. Site verification and regulated work belong to appropriately licensed or qualified professionals. This guide is general education, not a system-specific diagnosis, design, warranty decision, or legal conclusion.
